Southern Sky Adventures: Golf

Interested in playing Golf in the Wild at nature preserve abutting Kruger National Park where giraffe and antelope share the fairways? How about playing the world’s longest (and highest) par 3 at Legends Golf and Safari Resort in South Africa where the tee box is poised 1,400 feet above the green and is only accessible by helicopter. Trevor Immelman, Bernard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Justin Rose, Vijay Singh, K J Choi and Retief Goosen have each designed a hole at Legends. Excellent (traditional) golf courses can be found in parts of Africa, all welcoming to both scratch golfers and junior players alike. Should your travels take you through East Africa, there are a number of championship courses in Kenya. In southern Africa, there are good numbers of courses in the Victoria Falls area in Zambia and Zimbabwe. The most prolific country for golf is South Africa where world class, championship courses can be played throughout the country in stunning settings. Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Nick Price, Ernie Els and Retief Goosen have designed courses in South Africa.
